Arrival in HVAR
All roads lead to SPLIT
Arriving to HVAR from abroad is impossible without passing through SPLIT. SPLIT is the capital of Splitsko-Dalmatinska county and is well conected with all Europe and the rest of world by airplane, train, bus and boat. Of course, you can also arrive to SPLIT by car.
AEROPORT is 24km away from the SPLIT's city center. It is well connected with SHUTLLE BUS and TAXI. It takes you about 30 minutes to come to the port.
TRAIN and BUS STATION are actually located in the port of Split. You just have to cross the street to come the port terminal.
HVAR is directly connected to SPLIT with CATAMARAN line. It takes one hour to arrive to the port of HVAR.
HVAR is indirectly connected to SPLIT through STARI GRAD with FERRY line. It takes two hours to arrive to the port of STARI GRAD, and additional half hour from STARI GRAD to HVAR (by TAXI or shutlle bus).

NOTICE:
FERRY LINE TO STARI GRAD
If you are comming to Hvar with any kind of vehicle (including bicycle) then you have to take ferry line to Stari Grad. Ferry always sails, no matter of weather conditions.
CATAMARAN LINE TO HVAR
Tickets may not be always available, due to limited number of seats. Catamaran may be fragile on extreme weather conditions, departure will be canseled in such circumstances.
TIME GAP BETWEN TRANSIT
Diocletian’s palace (old town) and riva (promenade) are just 5 to 10 minutes away from train, bus and port terminals. Take a break between transit and enjoy in typical mediterranean city bustle. Tavernas, restorans, coffe shops, souvenires, market, museums ...
